--
it went on for 5 minutes
some small sparks
some biiiig sparks
of different colours, size and rhythm.
the lights that flew out of the ground so bright.
for once again something in my heart screamed out.
the scream of joy,
the scream that yelled; everything is going to be alright.
i felt hope.

Live from Tabard Theatre: Trying
Trying was indeed one of the most beautiful, wellstructured, and sophisticated live theatre performances I’ve witnessed in mylife. The first time I went inside the old-fashioned building I was greeted bythese people whom were very friendly, and they lead me into the theatre hall.First thing I noticed was how classic the set was. Being able to see livetheatre like this is in fact an exciting new experience I’m about to encounterin my life.
The settingof the stage suits the time of the story as well, which takes place in the late60s. I really like the setting because it is far from what I see in dailylife. When the play was about to start,a lady comes up introducing what the story is going to be about, and with senseof humor she mentions how we are going to be ‘eaves-dropping’ as watching theconversation between attorney Biddle and his secretary. I think that was a veryinteresting opening as well.
The actingof the actors is very natural and professional. They really did behaved in away people of the 60s would. Since the story is developed from a real story, Ifound it very interesting that it is now re-acted through a live performance. The outfits worn by the actors suited thetimeline.
The transmission between one sceneand another is very smooth and beautiful. It is very quick, and even how thecharacter expresses their personality can be see gradually from one scene untilthe end. How attorney Biddle was not friendly and perhaps cold-hearted towardsthe new secretary Sarah (With an ‘H’) until a year after they have developed afamily-like relationship between each other. The story is very clear, and howthe actors expressed their feelings are very easy to understand.
I like how the heater seems to takea huge role in the play as well. The first day of Sarah’s work we analyze howattorney Biddle strictly prohibits Sarah to even touch the heater. But towardsthe end of the play, Sarah seems to be conveniently switching the heater on andoff without attorney Biddle’s objection.
Not only the heater, Sarah’spregnancy also takes an important role because throughout time her stomach getsbigger and bigger. Here I notice how well organized the play was, and howprofessional everyone who works behind the stage are – the fact that the actorschange outfits within seconds!
For a ticket price of $30, I’d sayit was very worth the value. Plus, being a Foothill student advantages me topay for only $5, which was a bonus. Ihad a very good time watching the show and hopefully one day I will haveanother opportunity to be able to see my own teacher acting on stage. Not tomention the types of food offered were such quality! – The cheesecake wasperhaps the best cheesecake I’ve ever tasted in the bay. Thank you so muchProfessor Gravenhorst for giving this golden opportunity to the students!

CCCSAA conference 2012
Being a part of the student government at Foothill College had given me the opportunity to travel south California, Los Angeles. Even though it was a student business trip, two nights at the conference gave me the opportunity not to only learn new things but also make new friends.
Day 1 - 19th Oct 2012
2 pm arrived at LAX with the team
(-------------------------bryan-kaan-----------------------------)
(marcel-wesley-joss-janice-me-antonia-daphne-phoebe)
arriving at Hilton LAX, we were given hotel room keys, name tags and the program guide of the conference. since it was pretty much introductory day, there weren't any workshops but dance nights with actual disco ball and hired DJs.
how was it? it was fun! because all California Community College reps (AS) were there representing their schools, and yeah they are really awesome people!
and then at 6 pm we went to this large ballroom where dinner is served.
pretty amusing how everyone of their college has this customized student government hoodies everywhere...

Confession of a guilty technology-dependent
Guilty as charged, I, Cindy Marshall, hereby confess that I am too dependent on the functions of technology (laptop) and perhaps couldn't do anything without the presence of it. :(
So there goes my confession.

Roomie Edition: Happy Birthday Wai Kiu jeh
in case I haven't got the chance to introduce..
i have been living with this hongkanese female called Janice Nam- also known as the Vitasoy Girl (please dont hate me) HAHAHHA
(Busted! U googled the shit out of yourself, Janice. Lol in case you are reading this right now in 10yrs from now... I hope we're still friends and I hope we get to do business together la Hongkong-Indo. I wont corrupt your business don't worry HAHHAHAHA ok OFFTOPIC MOVE ONNNN)
it was Sunday Oct 7 when I thought of an idea of giving this girl a surprise birthday as it was her 20th birthday the following day. (heads up, Janice is one of the HEYILOVEMYBIRTHDAY population)
I made her think that we are not so into celebrating her birthday, infact- we make her think that we do not have that interests in celebrating her birthday.
The thing is- I invited 20 people(maybe more) to our house during midnight to surprise her. No one RSVP-d to my Facebook MIDNIGHT invitation and our friend Kaan happen to....SHOW UP AT 9 p.m.
Um! WHY ARE YOU HERE AGAIN?
Dum dum dum... Curious Janice is Curious.
With the very lack of acting skills, I've tried my best (and nailed it,yay) to act as if Kaan needed to see me and talk about our upcoming event we are working on. She bought it. Teehee
After some hours making her believe that no one remembers her birthday, she went to sleep. Kinda hard to make her unconscious.... I need to actually lie by her side and pretend to sleep. Now I know how hard it was for my mom to make me sleep years back....
So after gathered people on the parking lot of our apartment- Turned out 13 people showed up :') THANK U guys and surprised the hell out of Jan- By breaking in her room with birthday cakes and singing.
glad u like the surprise though :) hope u had the GOODEST early moment of ur 20 yrs old.

GANGNAM SENSATION
Oppa Gangnam Style- do I even have to explain about this phenomenon?
Well in case you do not know... This guy is PSY, he's just 180' contrast to what people have in mind about 'korean songs' (pretty boys, super asianized look, trying to look cool in all videos)
am i here to talk about PSY? actually.....NO.
perhaps more about the funny skype session I had with mama & papa recently.
Apparently my dad has been mentioning 'gangnam style' out of nowhere when he send me messages.
And so when I saw him on video, I mentioned "Dad u know Gangnam Style?"
He was eating a banana. He slowly uttered "Oh! Gangnam Style?"
He put away the banana in slow pace....
And BAM! he was dancing to it. Surprisingly he did a good job impersonating PSY...
Perhaps as enthusiastic as PSY,i'd say?
Mom & Michelle's reaction = NAHH WE'RE USED TO IT.
Miss my crazy dad.
ciao.
himym= SEASON 8!
Ted: Uh, excuse me.
Klaus: Oh, hey, it's you.
Ja okay, I'm not sure what kind of vibe I was giving off before, but I am not interested in your schnitzel, okay?
Ted: No, no, no, no, no-- God, no.
I-I just have one quick question:
Victoria seems like a great girl. Why wouldn't you want to marry her?
Klaus: Ach, okay, Victoria is wunderbar.
I'm sorry, wunderbar is the German word for wonderful.
Ted: Yeah, no, I know.
Klaus: Oh, you speak German?
Ted: No... No, no, no... No, just-just-just the one word.
Klaus: Oh. Oh.
Ah... Okay, Victoria.
There is a word in German:
Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz.
And the closest translation would be...
"Lifelong Treasure of Destiny."
And Victoria is wunderbar, but she is not my Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz.
She is my Beinaheleidenschaftsgegenstand, you know?
You know wunderbar but you don't know Beinaheleidenschaftsgegenstand?
That is something we learn in kindergarten.
I'm sorry, "kindergarten" is the German word for--
No, no, I know that one. Oh, okay.
But you don't know Beinaheleidenschaftsgegenstand?
You are maddeningly inconsistent.
It means...
"the thing that is almost
the thing that you want...
...but it's not quite."
Das ist Victoria to me.
Ted: How do you know she's not Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz?
I mean, maybe as the years go by, she'll get Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz-ier.
Klaus: Oh, nein, nein, nein.
Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz is not something that develops over time.
It is something that happens instantaneously.
It courses through you like the water of a river after a storm...
...filling you and emptying you all at once.
You feel it throughout your body...
In your hands...
in your heart...
in your stomach...
...in your skin...
Of course you feel it in your Schlauchmachendejungen.
Pardon my French. Have you ever felt this way about someone?
Ted: Yeah, I think so.
Klaus: If you have to think about it,
you have not felt it.
Ted: And you're absolutely sure
you'll find that someday?
Klaus: Of course. Everyone does eventually.
You just never know when or where.
Ted: And he was right.
Unfortunately, the "when"
of it was still a little ways down the road.
But the "where" of it?
================================================
are you perhaps... my Lebenslangerschicksalsschatz?

Swimming
Your songs remind me of swimming,
Which I forgot when I started to sink
Dragged further away from the shore,
And deeper into the drink
Sat on the bottom of the ocean,
A stern and stubborn rock
'Cause your songs remind me of swimming,
But somehow I forgot
I was sinking, and now I'm sunk
I was drinking, and now I'm drunk
Your songs remind me of swimming,
But somehow I forgot
I tried to remember the chorus,
I can't remember the verse
'Cause that song that sent me swimming,
Is now the life jacket that burst
Rotting like a wreck on the ocean floor,
Sinking like a siren that can't swim anymore
'Cause our songs remind me of swimming,
But I can't swim anymore
Pull me out the water, cold and blue,
I open my eyes and I see that it's you,
So I dive straight back in the ocean
So I dive straight back in the ocean
Take a deep breath, suck the water in my chest
Take a deep breath, suck the water in my chest
Cross my fingers and hope for the best
Then all of a sudden, I heard a note,
It started in my chest and ended in my throat
Then I realized, then I realized, then I realized
I was swimming,
Yes, I was swimming
And now I'm swimming,
Yes, I am swimming
Your songs remind me of swimming
Which I forgot when I started to sink
Your songs remind me of swimming,
Which I forgot when I started to sink
